A must-stop during Second Saturday meanderings, Francisco “Paco” De La Torre and his hit art
enclave Butter Gallery continue to make waves in an ever-changing arts scene.
TEXT BY RYAN JARRELL
A step to the left from your more typical commercial arts space, Butter Gallery and its curator Francisco “Paco” De La Torre IV
understand that evolution is integral to remaining relevant in the creative sphere. “Since launching in 2006, our mission has changed
over the years,” he says. “I like to think of Butter Gallery as a contemporary exhibition space of wide curatorial parameters.” Currently
showcasing Jeffrey Noble’s haunting painting collection — A Magnetic Shelter — Butter’s stark curatorial space well highlights the
elevated esoteric notes of poignant portraiture that add a much-need mystic aura to our rationalist age. Next on the agenda for
this thought-provoking powerhouse? “I’m looking forward to curating a group art show with the recent works of those who have
exhibited at Butter Gallery over the last 11 years,” says De La Torre, mentioning the exhibit could premiere as early as this year’s
Miami Art Week; Butter Gallery, 2930 NW 7th Ave.; ButterGallery.com.
