Success A t Y our B e s t
One of the most exciting developments over the last several years
has been technology to remove unwanted fat without surgery.
Initially, there was Coolsculpting, which eliminates fat by freezing
it. Then came Vanquish and various ultrasound technologies, which
uses the deep heat of radiofrequency to melt fat away. The most
recently FDA-approved technology for unwanted fat reduction is
SculpSure. With SculpSure, laser energy is directed under the skin
to heat and eliminate fat. Templates are placed over the unwanted
fat, and the laser is applied for 25 minutes, eliminating 24% of the
fat in a 6-12 week period. A second treatment can be done at 12
weeks if desired. This technique has been used in many areas of the
body including abdomen, flanks, upper back, arms and inner thighs.
It works best on areas of stubborn fat that just won’t go away with
diet and exercise. During the treatment, the patient will feel the
warmth of the laser with the power adjusted to make sure it isn’t
painful. The laser energy diffuses beyond the treatment templates
to prevent any irregularities or step-offs between untreated and
treated areas. So for those who have an area of fat that they just
can’t get rid of, SculpSure is the solution.

46 DESK REPS
Dilbert-inspired lifestyle inspiring excess lbs? Do trips to the
watercooler invariably leave you weary and winded? These
simple deskercises can help you workout while working.
TEX T BY RYAN JARRELL
Hold you arms out to your side and
rotate 20 times in either direction.
Do 3-4 reps twice a day to
stimulate your shoulder, tricep and
bicep muscles. You’re sure to be
much more nimble when it’s time to go wild on the weekend.
Take 4-5 steps away from your
desk and put your hands firmly
upon it. Slowly lower yourself
toward your desk and back
away in a standing push up. Do
this enough times and the weight of the world on your
shoulders will be a thing of the past.
This one is not for the weak-of-
glutes. Extend your arms directly
in front of you and slowly lower
yourself into a chair until your rear
just touches, then stand back up.
Repeat until you start to moan and sweat. That’s when it
really starts working.
